Take the Worry out of Carpooling or Taking the Bus
Always a Guaranteed Ride Home!
iPool2's Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) Program takes the worry out of carpooling or taking the bus because it guarantees a free ride home in the event of an emergency such as:
|
Illness (family or personal) at work or school.
Personal medical emergency
Family member emergency
Missed the last scheduled bus pick up
Unscheduled overtime after arriving at work
Any VALID emergency.
How do I sign up for GRH?
|
|
Complete the iPool2 GRH registration form when you start carpooling or start using the bus for your commute. You are eligible for the program if you walk or bike to work some of the days too. Print and save the user instruction page displayed at the end of your registration. You will need the Guaranteed Ride Home registration number when you call for a ride.
If you have a valid monthly CDTA Swiper pass, you can also use the serial number on the back of the pass. For details, visit www.cdta.org/riding/fares_swiper_ridehome.php.
Who is eligible?
Any commuter who carpools, uses the bus, bikes or walks to work two days a week on average is eligible for a free iPool2 Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH).
How often can I use it?
The iPool2 GRH program provides up to six uses per year (limited to two times in any one month), with an annual (calendar year) cap of $300.
How to Schedule a Guaranteed Ride Home
If you carpool, vanpool, walk, bike or take the Northway Express, Schoharie County Public Transportation, Brown Coach, Yankee Trails, Adirondack Trailways, City of Amsterdam Transit or Coxsackie Transport to get to and from work, contact the CDTA Call Center at 482-8822 to schedule a GRH. They'll verify your eligibility and schedule the ride.
The GRH trip must begin from work but may end at home or another location, such as child care or a park-and-ride lot. Emergency-related interim stops are also permitted.
Other Restrictions
Taxi service is available only to those registered with iPool2’s Guaranteed Ride Home program. Additional riders accompanying you must pay for their own cab fare.
Taxi service is non-exclusive (other customers might board during your trip)
Customers will forfeit their right to Guaranteed Ride Home privileges if they do not use the service once it is arranged.
If you already have a GRH account, please login or click here to create one.
The GRH program is a service designed by CDTC. CDTC and CDTA are not responsible for taxi service provided under the Guaranteed Ride Home program and have no liability in the provision of such service.
